I am indeed elated to write this message for the Website of Hamdard University Bangladesh. Located in its own campus on a picturesque landscape and housed in modern buildings, the creation of the University was the long cherished dream of Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, the pragmatic founding leader of modern Hamdard Laboratories (waqf) Bangladesh and Hamdard Foundation Bangladesh. Under his dynamic leadership, the University was established on 14 March 2012 as a nonpolitical and truly a not-for-profit organization in the fashion Hamdard.

I can unequivocally say that Hamdard University Bangladesh is now an ideal institution imparting quality higher education in all five Faculties: Science, Engineering and Technology; Arts and Social Sciences; Business Administration; Unani and Ayurvedic Medicines; and Health Sciences. Unlike other private universities, more than 95% of its faculties hold full time permanent positions. In fact, teachers with international repute and experience are leading the five faculties and various programs under them. In addition, the University is being supported by highly distinguished personalities of the country in its administrative apex body.

Currently, the campus comprises of academic buildings, a hospital, a cafeteria, playgrounds, and common rooms facilities for the students. However, expansion of the University is underway on the basis of the Campus Development/ Master Plan. Undoubtedly, it is a unique hub of cultural activities where students participate to observe national programs, socio-cultural and religious events irrespective of caste, creed, and/ or religion.

I firmly believe in the philosophy: “Seeing is believing.” So, I urge all guardians, students in pursuit of knowledge, and all other stakeholders to visit the campus before they decide to join us. Like Hamdard, our motto is to serve the people. The vision and mission of the University is to make it an ideal seat of learning in line with the dreams of the founder Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, and in the process we would surely materialize Vision 2021 and SDG 31 through 41 of the Country. I invite you all to join the mission of the University and become a part of history for the posterity.
