It is my pleasure to welcome you at the web site of the department of Economics, Hamdard University Bangladesh. The department starts its journey from the beginning of the university in 2012. There is a group of highly educated and trained faculty members in the department. All faculty members have graduated from renowned public universities in home and abroad who are professionally able to teach both theoretical and applied courses of economics like micro economics, macroeconomics, public economics, agricultural and rural economics, industrial and urban economics, labor and environmental economics, money and banking, economics of growth and development, mathematics and statistics for economists and econometrics, history of economic thought and system etc.

The faculty members not only take classes with well prepared class notes and lecture sheets regularly but they also work as full time mentor/ counselor/ guide of the students in all respects of academic and cultural affairs like arrangement of seminars, debate, study tour, industrial tour etc. The special feature of the department is to arrange ~Scholars Lectures~ on current economic issues inviting eminent scholars from various Universities, Organization of home and abroad.

The department has the motto of trained up the students in both theoretical and applied aspects of economics so that they can face the challenge of achieving Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG) of the nation as well as the New International Economic Order (NIEO).
