Managing Director
Hamdard Labrotories (Waqf) Bangladesh
I am honored to state that Hamdard University Bangladesh has been established and functioning under the financial patronage of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh and Hamdard Foundation. We are a benevolent organization that promotes welfare by performing humanitarian, charitable, educational and philanthropic activities. This Foundation is run by the earnings of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh. The primary goal for founding this University is to achieve a level of academic excellence which measures favorably on the touchstone of international standards. The University is continuously trying in building up resources, necessary for an institution of higher education devoted to teaching and research.
Education at Hamdard University Bangladesh addresses to the fullest development of a ‘whole person’ intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially and culturally. The University promotes these goals by providing adequate opportunities, suitable facilities and appropriate support services for the comprehensive and all-round growth of all the students, faculty and staff alike.
To provide state-of-the-art educational and research facilities, about 160 bighas of land has gradually been procured and developed in Gazaria, Munshiganj, in the estuary of the mighty river Meghna and meek Phuldi. We have already built an ideal campus for the University on this large and wide open space away from the crowded city, in proximity with the nature. The area of this University is perhaps larger than any other existing private universities in Bangladesh.
At this juncture, I am grateful to recognize all members of the Board of Trustees, faculties, supporting staff and management of the University who have contributed immensely in initiating Hamdard University Bangladesh. I wish them all good luck in their continued endeavors in making this University a role model in higher education of Bangladesh.
