The Department of English of Hamdard University Bangladesh organized a seminar on “World Englishes from the perspectives of teachers of English” on 11 July 2019 at 03:00 PM in the Multipurpose Hall of the University. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Dr Obaidul Hamid, a Senior Lecturer in TESOL at the University of Queensland in Australia. He also teaches postgraduate courses in TESOL and language policy and planning. The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Dr Md Abdul Mannan, the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abul Khair, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof Dr Mohammad Sadirul Islam, the Head of the English Department Nujhat Nuari Islam, all the faculty members of the English Department and the students were present in the seminar.
