Hamdard University Bangladesh celebrated its 8th Foundation Day on 14 March 2019 on its campus at Hamdard City of Science, Education and Culture, Gazaria, Munshiganj. This University was established on 14 March 2012. Member of the Board of Trustees and Deputy Managing Director of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh Mohammad Zamal Uddin (Russel) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Besides, the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Khair, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration Prof. Dr. Md. Nasim Anzum; the Controller of Examinations Md. Nurul Huda, the Head of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine Dr. Md. Khairul Alam, all the Heads of the all Departments, all Faculty members, students, officers and staff were present. The honorable Vice – Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan presided over the program. The program started with the recitation from the Holy Quran.

The main program was started by the welcome speech by the Registrar Dr. Md. Moazzom Hossain.

Mohammad Zamal Uddin (Russel) briefly discussed the history of Hamdard and its ideology. He shortly described the natural beauty of the current permanent campus and also mentioned that this is the best private University of Bangladesh compared to other private universities in terms of natural beauty. He said that our vision to establish this University is to make enlightened pupils who will contribute to our community and the nation through their philanthropic activities. At the end of his speech, he urged to the students that they should follow the ideology of Hamdard.

The VC of the University expressed his sincere thanks to the Chief guest for attending the program. He profoundly remembered the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the valiant martyrs who sacrificed their lives for making Bangladesh a free nation in the world. He also remembered late Shaheed Hakim Mohammad Said, Prof. Dr. Nurul Islam, Prof. Dr. M. R. Khan and others who contributed to established this University. He briefly discussed the upliftment and the facilities of the University and stated that very soon the University authority will establish another hostel for the male students in the campus. At the end of his speech, he stated that we have to work together as a team so that we can achieve our desired goals and can fulfill our dream.

At the end of the discussion program, a special prayer was held for the Founder and chief patron of the University Dr. Hakim Md. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan. The whole program ended with a rally.
